Our goal is to establish safe spaces at shows.
We believe that equal treatment of others can start in a fan’s own community. By creating Safe Spaces at shows and encouraging fans to bring that sensibility home with them, what happens at shows can be part of a chain reaction of safe space conversations across the country.
Nationwide, about 5% of youth identify as LGBTQ, but up to 40% of youth experiencing homelessness in the United States identify as LGBTQ. Societal rejection is at the base of the problem. LGBTQ youth also experience higher rates of bullying, discrimination, and alienation than their straight peers.
