When you call the switchboard, ask to speak to your representative. If you don’t know your representative, give the operator your zip code and they’ll connect you. Once they connect you, use the script below to either talk to your Rep's staff member or leave a message. Voicemails are logged the same way that speaking to a staff member is logged — both are equally impactful! "Hi, my name is [Your Name] and I'm a constituent in [Your ZIP Code]. I'm calling to ask [the Senator / the Representative}] to support and protect transgender youth.

There are roughly 300,000 trans youth in this country and they're getting hit hard. In 2025 alone, more than 800 anti-LGBTQ bills were introduced in state legislatures, and the majority of them targeted trans kids specifically — banning their healthcare, their sports participation, even what name their teacher is allowed to call them.

Every major American medical organization supports access to age-appropriate, evidence-based
care for trans youth, because that's what the research shows reduces depression and saves lives.

So I'm asking [the Senator / the Representative] to do two things:

Oppose any federal legislation that bans gender-affirming care for minors or pulls federal funding
from doctors, hospitals, schools, or families who support trans young people, AND

Push back on any federal agency action — at HHS, the Department of Education, Medicaid, or
anywhere else — that uses regulation to target trans kids and the people who care for them.

Thank you for taking the time. Could you please pass this along to [the Senator / the
Representative]? Have a good day."

Write a postcard to the same office (paper mail still gets logged), or show up at a local town hall meeting with your representative. Text two friends with your reps' numbers and the script. That's how this scales.
