Tennessee
Join GLSEN TN for a phone bank on Monday, April 12th at 6:30 CST.
- They will be calling legislators to discourage them from supporting the anti-LGBTQ bills, leaving messages of support for those who are publicly standing against them, and inviting friends and allies to join us in the fight to put a stop to the attacks on the LGBTQI community in Tennessee.
Learn About Anti-LGBTQ Legislation
Over 29 states have introduced legislation targeting LGBTQ youth, particularly trans youth, from the bill in Alabama aiming to make gender-affirming care for trans youth a felony to bills from Connecticut to Montana banning trans people from sports. Join us and take action now to protect LGBTQ youth by looking up your state’s legislation, finding your state legislators, and contacting them. If your state does not currently have anti-LGBTQ legislation, sign up to volunteer for a phone bank.

Sample Form Message – Alabama
Hello Governor Ivey,
My name is [your name] and I urge you to veto HB1/SB10 and HB391.
HB1/SB10 puts trans youth at risk. Research clearly shows that gender-affirming healthcare saves lives. Criminalizing providing healthcare for trans youth is inhumane, dehumanizing, and will put trans youth at immense risk. This is clear discrimination against trans people, which is unconstitutional. Trans people deserve equal rights and autonomy in healthcare. Please VETO HB1/SB10 to protect all trans people in Alabama.
HB391 wrongly discriminates against transgender girls in sports. Trans girls deserve to play on girls’ teams, just like any other girls do. Trans girls do not threaten women’s sports. In fact, the exclusion of trans women threatens women’s sport because the exclusion of trans women demands rampant policing of women’s bodies. That is, HB391 threatens ALL girls, because any girl can be accused of being transgender. This not only demonizes and weaponizes transness but also legally enforces the policing of women’s bodies in sport. Please VETO HB391 to protect ALL athletes.
Thank you,
[Your name, your zip ONLY if you are from AL]
