On December 19th, The Ally Coalition hosted the Eighth Annual Talent Show at NYU Skirball. Hosted by Rachel Antonoff, we are so fortunate to have the support of the amazing artists who came together to fight for LGBTQ rights! This year’s event featured performances from musicians Bleachers, Matty Healy of The 1975, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, Trey Anastasio of Phish, Joy Oladokun, and more, with comedians like Mike Birbiglia, Jacqueline Novak, and more....

We worked with Royal and the Serpent to invite 10 fans to volunteer at Safe Place for Youth in Venice, CA. Fans helped spruce up SPY’s community garden, enjoyed a meal straight from the garden, and experienced an intimate acoustic set from Royal and the Serpent after the project. TAC worked with The Recording Academy, The GRAMMY Museum, and Red Bull Records to present our annual GRAMMY Panel on LGBTQ Equality in Music, an official GRAMMY Week Event. Angelica Rossmoderated an amazing conversation with Durand Bernarr, Miki Ratsula, Victoria Canal, Zolita, and Cristal from The Aces. The Aces then treated the crowd to a special acoustic performance, featuring songs off their forthcoming album....

TAC collaborated w/ local organizations serving LGBTQ youth to provide essential services. We created a community space to receive a hot meal,coffee from Bluestone Lane, snacks and chocolate from Pipcorn and Tony’s Chocoloney and connect with peers and outreach staff from local LGBTQ organizations, a medical and beauty suite to access HIV/STD testing, vision exams, flu shots, dental care, mental health resources, and haircuts, and a new clothing closet full of shoes from Vans and Doc Martens, clothing from Hot Topic, Hello Merch, and Red Light Management, socks from Bombas, and accessories from United Legwear....

TAC presented a LGBTQ Voices Session for The GRAMMY In The Schools Festival, the GRAMMY Museum’s annual educational festival. Jessica Vaughn of Head Bitch Music led a powerful discussion with Moore Kismet, JORDY, Ambar Lucid, and DreBae. LAUSD students were able to attend in person, and students across the world were able to tune in by streaming GITS Fest sessions online....

TAC worked with artists, labels, and brands like Bartees Strange, Low Cut Connie, Nettwerk, and the Brooklyn Bowl to amplify current LGBTQ issues in Texas. TAC invited local Texas organization, the Transgender Education Network of Texas to table during the Brooklyn Bowl’s Family Reunion. That weekend, TENT was able to raise over $7K to support trans youth, engaged and educated over 300 fans, and collected over 275 love letters for trans people....

TAC worked with Magic City Acceptance Center, Magic City Acceptance Academy, and award winning YA author David Levithan to bring a weekend of LGBTQ centered arts and literacy programming to LGBTQ youth and the LGBTQ community in Birmingham. David spoke with over 350 middle and high school students about his book, “Two Boys Kissing”, doing a deep dive on the book, participating in a student-led discussion, and meeting with students one on one to offer advice on their current writing/arts projects....

David held a discussion, informal Q&A, and book signing with folks of all ages from the LGBTQ community who came together to celebrate and analyze the book, LGBTQ representation in literature, and discuss censorship and book bans that are sweeping through the nation. Folks were then invited to see the choral piece of “Two Boys Kissing” put together by the Birmingham Steel City Men’s Chorus, featuring a pre-show panel with David, the composer, and local activists....

TAC partnered with All Things Go, one of the fastest-growing music festivals in the U.S., known for its inclusive lineups.
